Reopening Records

A closed record needs to be reopened when the problem turns up again later or if it is found not completely fixed.

Reopening a record automatically changes its status to ‘Open’ and reassigns it to the user to whom it was assigned immediately before the last resolution.

BUGtrack allows reopening single and multiple records at a time.

Procedure – Single Bug

Step one. Open the closed record’s detail view and click the Reopen button.

Step two. Attach a new file and/or add more comments if required. Click the Submit button to complete reopening.

Procedure – Mass Reopen

Step one. Select all the bugs you would like to reopen from a closed bugs list, and click the Reopen button.

Step two. Attach a new file and/or add new comments to all of the selected records if needed. Click the Submit button to complete mass reopen.

Note: When multiple records are reopened, the user will receive an e-mail notification on every record for which the notification option is enabled. To disable multiple e-mails sending, select the Don’t send notification emails check box at the bottom of the Mass Reopen form.
