Inviting Users to Join BUGtrack

Use

To log in to BUGtrack, users need to obtain their user names and passwords (i.e. respective user records must exist).

BUGtrack provides a special wizard to automate mass-sending user names and passwords to users along with the BUGtrack URL.

Procedure

The e-mail can be only sent to the users maintained in your BUGtrack user directory. In the Mass Mail form, click the Prepare an Invitation button. BUGtrack will automatically select all users to whom an invitation has not been sent yet.

You may also manually select users to whom you would like to send an invitation, by selecting respective check boxes. The following mass processing options are available:

• To quickly find users of a group, click a corresponding link at the top-right corner of the page.

• To select all of your BUGtrack users, click the Select All button.

• To deselect all of the selected users, click the Deselect All button.

Use the Subject field to create the subject line for your message.

Enter your message text in the Body field. In the message text the following variables are supported (placeholders that the system fills with real values when sending out messages):

• %NAME% for user names as recorded in the user directory;

• %LOGIN% for a user ID as recorded in the user directory;

• %PASSWORD% for user passwords;

• %URL% for a regular BUGtrack URL.

To check the spelling of your text, click the Spell Check button. To send out your message immediately, click the Send button.
