User Preferences

Use

User Preferences are user-specific interface settings. After an administrator creates a user record in the system, the user may login and change his or her preferences.

Procedure

On the Preferences page, users are able to maintain the following options:

Password – the password entered by users to log into BUGtrack.

Name – user name used for user identification in Project definitions and records management. It appears in all drop-down lists and bug history.

E-mail – user’s e-mail address used for sending notifications and e-mails.

Notify – defines whether the user will receive notification about own and other users’ activities in the system. The user may disable notifications by selecting the Do not send e-mail notifications option. To enable notifications about all activities except own, select the Send e-mail notifications excluding own activity option; to enable notifications about any activities related to you, select Send e-mail notifications including own activity.

List format – switches List format between Brief (just records’ subject lines) and Complete (short record details).

Detail format – activates/deactivates Rich Text formatting for the Details text entry field.

Locale – defines the locale (date and time fields presentation formats) that the user would like to use.

Language – defines the preferable interface language for each user individually. Currently English, German, Swedish and Japanese user interfaces are available to choose, more interfaces will be available soon. Texts may be in any language as all input fields support Unicode.

Time Zone – defines the time zone (against Greenwich Time) where the user is located.

BUGtrack skill level – by choosing Expert level, a user can save some screen space by hiding tips displayed next to each field and control in the Beginner mode.

To save your changes, click the Save button. To discard your changes, click the Cancel button.
