Categories
Use
Sometimes specifying a record’s type is not sufficient to classify a record precisely. For example, a suggestion might describe a new functionality feature or an enhancement for an existing one.
Categories can be global or type-specific. When a bug is created, edited, moved or reassigned, the available options for the Category picklist include all the global categories and the categories specific to the record’s type.
Type-specific categories are maintained within Types. This section concerns global categories.

Procedure
To create a global category:
- Click the Add Category button next to the Any Type label.
- Specify the category name in the Name field.
- Click the Save button to save the new category or the Cancel button to close the form without saving.
To edit a global category:
- Click the Edit icon corresponding to the category that you would like to edit.
- On the displayed page, edit the category title.
- Click the Save button to save your changes or the Cancel button to discard them.
To delete a global category:
- Click the Delete icon next to the category title that you would like to delete.
- On the displayed page, choose the category to which all the records belonging to deleted category should be transferred.
- Click the Delete button and confirm deletion in the dialog box that will be opened.
