| | | | Source Control IntegrationIn software projects, it is important to keep track of all source code changes. BUGtrack can be integrated with various source control systems, such as CVS, Subversion and Microsoft Visual Source Safe. This feature allows for the linking every code change with a specific BUGtrack record, so your project team members can always see why a source file was altered. With source control integration, each check-in contains information on the bug it is supposed to fix, and the bug will contain a complete list of check-ins associated with it.
Basically, the integration process relies both on your source control system and BUGtrack: - Source control system - should be configured to notify BUGtrack whenever a bug-relevant file is checked in. This is achieved with a special trigger script which is activated by check-in event.
- BUGtrack - records updated via source control integration contain an additional Check-ins section with all related check-ins listed as hyperlinks to allow instantaneous access to specific source file versions.
