Usage
System notifications are intended for informing BUGtrack users of any kind of changes that have occured (any actions performed with a bug issue). BUGtrack makes it possible to configure a notification for a specific event. Occurence of such event will trigger sending of a notification that will inform about it.
A system notification represents a usual e-mail with a system change description. The From field should contain an e-mail address of a sender - administrator of the BUGtrack system in the name of which a notification is to be sent.
Procedure
To configure a new notification:
- Enter an e-mail address of the system administrator in the Administrative email form.
- In the Subject field specify a concise description of a notification.
- In the Body field leave a more detailed description of a notification.
- Press the Submit button to save your changes or the Reset button to discard them.
Tips
To make a notification more personalized, you can use the system variables in the Subject and the Body fields of the form. Possible variables to be used are marked grey and listed at the top of each field.
Notifications can also be generated on the per-event basis: when a certain event occurs, the system automatically sends out a corresponding notification. For further details, refer to the Accessing Records section.
