Use
Versions help meeting projects deadlines by defining release versions that should include all bug fixes and features implementation. For software-related projects, BUGtrack versions may correspond to the real-life products release versions. For other fields, versions can mean deadline dates, or events, or both. In bug records, versions are specified in the Fix for picklist field.
If a version has been assigned a date, after this day all bugs associated with the version will appear as past due and will be highlighted in lists.
Versions can be maintained both globally and project-specifically. When a bug is created, edited, moved or reassigned, the available options for the Fix for picklist include all the global versions and the versions maintained in the current project.
This section concentrates on global versions. Project-specific versions maintenance in described in the Projects section.

Procedure
To create a global version:
- Click the Add Version link below the versions list.
- Enter a new version’s title in the Name field, select the Assignable status (if ‘No’ is selected, new records cannot be assigned this version), and, if required, specify optional deadline date for the version.
- Press the Submit button to save the new version or the Reset button to clear the form.
To edit a global version:
- Click the Edit icon next to the version you wish to change.
- In the version details page, edit the title in the Name field, select the Assignable status (if ‘No’ is selected, new records cannot be assigned this version), and assign, erase or change the deadline date for the version.
- Press the Submit button to save the changes or the Reset button to cancel them.
To delete a global version:
- Click the Delete icon next to the version title to be deleted.
- On the displayed page choose the version that all the records belonging to the deleted version will be transferred to.
- Press the Submit button to confirm deletion.
